Hello!
A belated summary of Saturday: those of us who arrived earlier in the afternoon
(Tom, Natalie, Monika, Tabassum and myself) worked on moving the bags of leaves
in the east communal section to make way for roto-tilling. Also continued
weeding, and began some harvesting (tomatoes, cucumbers, chard, wax beans,
salad greens). Hope things went well for those of you who came later (and hope
you took some of the harvest we left out)
Due to a meeting, I will not be able to make it to the garden for the usual
workday tomorrow; but since I will be on campus, I might drop in later (after
7:30) if I get a chance. For those of you who come at the regular time and are
looking for things to do:
-continue weeding & spreading compost where needed
-pick up garbage around the garden and in pathways, etc
-if water has been delivered, please water all communal plots
-harvest. There is lot’s of chard, lot’s of peppers (both hot & sweet), salad
greens, and usually alot of zucchini/squash. There should be more and more
tomatoes these days. Check those berry bushes too!
