Thanks to Ana, Maria, Tabassum, Monika, Sija, Ian, Ross, and all the way from London, England…Tom C. We weeded plots 7,9,10,12,13,16, and 18 among others. We then dumped lots of compost from the pile at the edge of the fields in many of these plots. All the plots in the main section of the garden should be weeded like this and have compost dumped in them. So, feel free to come by and take care of a plot or two. The maps are posted on the cork board on the door of the shed. Use the list-serv to tell us what you did, if not on a scheduled workday. The Southwestern section of the garden needs a lot more work, but you can tell where we have been woring and what still needs to be done. Be careful about the runners for the winter squash; be sure you don’t step on them or run of one of them with the wheel barrel.
Monika shows the importance of regular harvesting, as zucchini should not come close to getting this big. We also harvested onions, garlic, beets, potatoes, beans, and peas. We missed you if you weren’t here for this fun!
