THanks Maria and Helena! I'll have you a key next Wednesday, if you come by for the extra workday; otherwise, I'll give it to Monika to give you and you can arrange to meet at the garden. I think she will be there tomorrow, but I am not sure what time. I told her that one thing not on my list of priorities is to (gently) make sure the scarlet runner beans are climbing up the trellis that was installed for them. Anyway, I hope you both are doing well, and I hope to see you and others next week, when I am back from Ottawa. Thanks again! e.

Siga,
I would really appreciate your email - I got bumped off due to change of email to yorku. I am also pretty in deep with the HighPark scenerio right now so I would really appreciate a respnsoe/email from someone from the garden.
I did not expect this turn od events but I guess it would be wise to connect with Ton or Ian...but need addresss.
Ian... please contact me. How?

Hello all,
I have had a rough time dealing with the death of my 20yr. old feline but hope that I will be shifting out of deep mourning soon.
I have not given up on gardening and look forward to maybe making it there on Saturday - good for healing.
Thanks,
Mary Beth

Ops! Just looked, really looked, on Saturday evening and realized, the flats multiply in the dark. There is a little less than two (not one sorry) flats of stuff unplanted. No worries though, there is no where near 72 plants to a flat.

Another update: The brussels sprouts and sunflower have been chewed on. :( Surprisingly, or maybe not, due to the smell, the sunflower planted in bindweed territory seems to be doing the best.

Stayed tuned for an update on the tomatoes.

The first two pictures are of Maria and I (Najat) with our loot.
The plants with the long stems in the front are sunflower seedlings.

The last two pictures are of Maria and I in St. George Station.
We had a little tea right in 5 O'Clock rush hour!!

I call it our 'Surreal Subway Moment: Diehard Plant Lovers'.

Needless to say we got a lot of odd stares on our way up to York....

We also had a brilliant epiphany at Downsview Station

-- why don't we (the TTC) turn Downsview Subway Station into a green house? There are windows on all four sides plus the ceiling....

Hello all,
Just wanted to apologize for not being able to make it to the garden as of late. It has taken well over 2 months to move and get organized onto campus and I'm still in boxes!
Timing has been difficult as my move conflicted with major spring garden prep.
I will be there on Saturday and am looking forward to pitching in my efforts to all the great work that people have done thus far.

I have 2 packages of BC Birch flooring, lamenated bottom - 4x6 strips - would this suffice for blocking bind weed?
Other than that - due to the time of the month, loads of cardboard in recycle bins right now....

A few hours a day at first is fine. But you do need to eventually have them out for longer periods. I know that Eric wanted to get something set up at Maloca to do this (plastic covering a rack) - so I'll pass this along to him. The other option is to ask on the e-mail list if there is anyone with outdoor access that is willing to take them at this stage.
